Short Garden Walks

Nature walks and hikes of different difficulty, fit in an afternoon or a full day. Along the way you will have a glimpse into the unique Jabaleya gardening traditions and Bedouin culture. A traditional Bedouin meal, including bread made in or over the open fire served with locally grown organic salad greens and herbs, will be prepared at el Freish garden retreat, where all walks and hikes finish. You will have some time to relax in the garden or explore its surroundings before making the short way back to town.

From 12 euro per person, depending of number of people and the program. See details.

Mt. Sinai Walks

Mt. Sinai is visited by hundreds of people every day, but to really appreciate it you have to avoid the crowds and take a little bit more time. Just off the usual route there are other important religious sites, such as the Rock of Moses, the Monastery of the 40 Martyrs and several ancient chapels, Byzantine ruins, monastic gardens and water wells hidden in beautiful mountain top basins. The only traditional Bedouin garden near Mount Sinai, Ramadan's Garden, is located in Wadi el Leja, right below the peaks of Mt. Sinai and Mt. St. Katherine, and now offers a pleasant and interesting alternative to staying in a hotel in town. There is another retreat, the Elijah Garden, close to the summit of Mt. Sinai in a small, walled court, under ancient cypress trees in a Bedouin tent. On the overnight walks camp is provided in one or both of these retreats.

From 22 euro per person, depending of number of people. See details.

Retreat Holidays and Garden Tours

Operating in the mountains requires a lot of effort – camels have to carry the heavy items, fresh supplies have to be brought up, the garden owner has to work hard all year to make sure his place is up to standard, firewood has to be bought from the National Park to protect the fragile eco-system and so on. All this is included in our regular price and, on top, we will provide you with the best, trained and qualified guides who understand the needs of Western visitors well.

It is difficult to give exact prices as it depends on many factors - how many people are in a group, which garden you choose, how long you stay in one place, how much belongings you have, what services you need or don't need, and so on. Prices can range between 20 to 70 euro per day per person. Please contact us to get an exact quote.
